A Big Project

So I have a big project sort-of kind-of in the works.  Mostly it is just notes on paper at this point, but I am working to develop a clear plan and settle on the scope and time frame for it.  As I have been working on a draft of my Master’s Thesis I have been ruminating on the kinds of scholarship I would like to be working on, in the future.

I am very much inspired by the work of Boise State’s own Steven Olsen-Smith who is responsible for the Melville Marginalia Project.  His work with Herman Melville’s library is quite fascinating (to nerdy people like me) and it just so happens that the author I am most interested in (three guesses as to who that is) had reading habits much like Melville’s.

So, my hope is to develop a resource similar to the Melville Marginalia Project (which I have the inexpressible privilege of interning with this Spring) for the books and reading of C.S. Lewis.  Naturally it will be something that I blog about as I work on it, and I can only hope that it neither takes over my life (as projects are wont to do), nor gets shuffled off to the side as the school year tries to kill me…
