Life in a Medieval Castle

I just finished Joseph and Frances Gies’ Life in a Medieval Castle last night. Jared and I went out on a “date” to a coffeehouse to sit and read. It was actually a lot of fun (especially the no-bake cookie). I loved reading the book, partly because of the lovely edition I have. This one:

The book was not particularly scholarly but was very engaging and informative. It could work as either a jumping-off place to further study or just to satisfy your curiosity. Now I get to read the other two books in the set: Life in a Medieval Village and Life in a Medieval City. Fun, fun.
